2020
Burkina Faso

From the Amazon forest fires to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year has been very difficult for many. Unfortunately, due to such external obstacles, the efforts of the Blossom Together Association have been very restricted, preventing them from offering their services at the extent that they desired.

Between March and June, during the coronavirus pandemic, the Blossom Together Association offered virtual ESL services to middle and high school students at the College of Horizon Education via Zoom video conferences and WhatsApp group chats. In addition, during July 2020, the effort raised approximately $30,000 to prepare and distribute food packages in northern Burkina Faso. The packages consisted solely of cattle meat, a luxury in rural Burkina Faso.

During such difficult times, the Blossom Together Association persisted to keep their promise of offering service each and every year!

Food Packages

With over 60% of Burkina Faso recorded as Muslim, a nation wide celebration of Eid al-Adha - an Islamic holiday - is expected, in which meat is donated to those in need all across the landlocked country. â€‹As Blossom Together, we have reached out to local networks and have obtained a price of $100 per package, which is expected to last a family for at least a month.

During the month of July, we raised approximately $30,000 for this service, meeting our goal of 300 food packages. It was an absolutely great experience, and we look forward to raising more moving forward!
